A Twitter user’s satirical thread on becoming the company’s next CEO has gone viral, a day after billionaire Elon Musk abruptly announced that he would resign as Twitter Inc’s CEO. Musk’s announcement was as dramatic as his proposal to acquire the microblogging site.
Emmy-nominated comedy writer Bess Kalb thanked Elon Musk for “taking a chance” on her in a sequence of five tweets. “Can finally announce: I am humbled, honored, and frankly still in disbelief to be the new CEO of Twitter,” she tweeted, tagging the second-richest person on the planet.
Her message does not instantly announce or appear to be satire, which would anger Elon Musk given the account suspension spree he took on after other accounts impersonated him.
He had stated that Twitter users who engage in impersonation without clearly identifying the account as a “parody” account will be permanently removed without a warning.
As the thread continues, the tweet’s parody of Elon Musk becomes more apparent. “He is much more than the apartheid-profiteer heir of an emerald mine owner who publicly despises him; he is currently Jared Kushner’s lone friend. I am confident that Elon Musk will visit Mars in his lifetime, given his degree of expertise and unimpeachable foresight “Ms. Kalb penned.
She said, “Even if he can only create children in a laboratory, regardless of how many women he impregnates, and his facelifts are melting, I will show up for Twitter the way he shows up every year for the Met Gala, despite turning his nose up at “Media Elites” when they make fun of him.”
“Additionally, I can now reveal that Elon earned almost $68,000 with his flagship idea Twitter Blue! Twitter appreciates his brilliant and lucrative idea and wishes him success in his future endeavors. We know they will be excellent and will only kill a few people “She composed a conclusion.
Elon Musk announced on Tuesday that he will stand down as CEO of Twitter Inc once he has found a replacement, but he will continue to oversee several important businesses of the social media network. “I will resign as CEO as soon as I find a fool to assume the position! Following that, I will only manage the software and server teams “Mr. Musk sent a tweet.
This is the first time Mr. Musk has addressed resigning as chief of the social media site, after Twitter users voted for his resignation in a poll he held on Sunday evening.
57.5 percent of around 17.5 million individuals voted “yes” in the survey. Sunday, Elon Musk stated that he would abide by the outcome. He has not specified a timeline for his departure, and no replacement has been named.
